Spanish tour operator Hidden in Spain has reduced the price of its seven-night Northern Spain FAM to $2,342 per person, based on double occupancy, a savings of over 21% off the original rate of $2,959 per person. The company is applying the discount retroactively to agents who have already booked the FAM as well as to all new bookings. There is a supplement for single occupancy.

The FAM will be held March 22 – 29, 2020 and will originate in Santander, the capital of Cantabria, from which guests will travel by bus to Llanes, a small fishing village in Asturias.  Along the way, among other activities, agents will explore several prehistoric caves and enjoy a brief visit to Santillana Del Mar, a town known for its mix of Romanesque, medieval, and Renaissance architecture. They will also tour the 19th-century Gaudí-designed El Capricho chalet in Comillas and other attractions.

Other itinerary highlights include a guided tour of Oviedo, the capital of Asturias, a visit to the coastal city of Gijon, as well as the fishing village of Lastres, known for its famous lighthouse that overlooks the sea.  A gentle hike in the Picos de Europa, a national park that offers some of Spain’s finest walking opportunities, will be included as will a ride on the funicular, a cable car, in the village of Fuente Dé.  In the old quarter of San Sebastian, the group will travel from bar to bar, drinking beer and wine and tasting the traditional small snacks, or pintxos, they serve.

The FAM also includes a wine tasting excursion, dining at a Michelin starred restaurant, and a visit to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, where the tour ends.

“Hidden in Spain explores the great scenery, lovely coastal and inland villages, amazing food and wine, and the natural landscape that make this region of Northern Spain one of the most beautiful parts of the country,” said Luis Fernandez de Vega, founder of Hidden in Spain, in a statement. “It will include meals representing some of the country’s best in regional fare and haute cuisine, with dining at local establishments and a Michelin starred restaurant.”

Price includes accommodations in 3- and 4-star boutique hotels, domestic transportation, guided tours, admission fees per itinerary, and some meals. It also includes all taxes and fees. Rates are based on current exchange rates for the Euro and subject to change.
