Crystal Cruises has cancelled all sailings through December 2020. This includes all Ocean voyages (aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity), Yacht voyages (aboard Crystal Esprit), and River voyages (aboard Crystal Bach, Crystal Debussy, Crystal Mahler and Crystal Ravel) through the remainder of 2020. All Expedition Voyages have been cancelled through May 1, 2021.
“The uncertainty surrounding this global health crisis hinders the ability for all cruise lines to operate,” Crystal said in a statement.
The cruise line is providing all affected guests with credits equal to 125 percent of the cruise fare paid on fully paid reservations—along with a refund of port charges, taxes and fees paid, and any air and hotel packages booked through the cruise line. For guests who have not fully paid, the credit will then be based on the deposited amount. Credits are valid on any experience (Ocean, River, Yacht or Expedition) embarking through Dec. 31, 2023.
River guests can opt to move their current 2020 reservation, including all payments made, to an equivalent sailing during the same time period in 2021, with price protection on the cruise fare and port charges, or they may transfer their reservation to any other experience (Ocean, River, Yacht or Expedition) embarking through Dec. 31, 2023 at prevailing rates (all monies paid will be transferred to the new reservation).
“While we are looking forward to welcoming our valued guests back aboard again as soon as possible, we will not do so until it is deemed safe by governing health authorities,” reads the statement.
While the fleet is paused, the cruise line has been developing new procedures and policies that will support all public health and regulatory requirements and to ensure guests’ vacations are safe and healthy. Building on its stringent protocols already in place, the cruise line recently launched Crystal Clean+ 2.0, an enhanced level of measures to help safeguard the well-being of its guests and crew. Each protocol will be continually evaluated as new information becomes available.
