The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which had wanted to extend the ‘No Sail Order’ through mid-February 2021, has announced the extension of a ‘No Sail Order’ for cruise ships through Oct. 31, 2020.

This order continues to suspend passenger operations on cruise ships with the capacity to carry at least 250 passengers in waters subject to U.S. jurisdiction.

In early August, Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) ocean-going cruise line members had agreed to voluntarily suspend U.S. cruise operations until at least Oct. 31, 2020.

The CDC’s had mid-February 2021 plan was blocked by the White House.
