According to the 2017 edition of the Family Travel Association’s annual survey, the majority of Americans are looking to travel with their families in the near future, and they’d like to do so with their children in tow.

Eighty-eight percent of respondents in the survey reported that they were either “very likely” or “likely” to travel with their children in the coming year. Of the nearly 1,600 participants, 49 percent said, “visiting new places and exploring together” was their main priority when on a family vacation, while another 42 percent cited “relaxing and unwinding together” as their focus.

Add these statistics to the 62 percent of respondents who reported wanting to vacation with their children at an all-inclusive resort, and it’s easy to see the unique opportunity travel agents are presented with—now more than ever—to book their clients on a trip that is sure to please every member of the family. This is where several Barceló Hotel Group properties step in to fill the need.

“Multi-generational travel has always been at the core of what we offer across the Barceló Hotel Group portfolio,” said Juan Perez Sosa, senior v.p. of sales and marketing at Barceló. “We cater to a diverse audience and pride ourselves in having properties, amenities, and activities that cater to travelers of all ages.”

The Barceló Maya Grand Resort and the Barceló Bavaro Grand Resort are just two examples of properties that exemplify this inclusive value Sosa described. Located on more than one mile of white-sand beaches in Mexico, the Barceló Maya Grand Resort features two waterparks and a Flowrider Wave Pool, an 18-hole mini golf course, a 4-lane bowling alley, a teens-only nightclub, and an array of treatments just for kids at the resort’s U-Spa. Meanwhile, in the Dominican Republic, the Barceló Bavaro Grand Resort offers a wide variety of family-friendly activities, such as scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and windsurfing, plus a kids club, where younger family members can enjoy crafty workshops and fun games.

“No matter what kind of family vacation you’re looking for, these resorts will not disappoint,” said Sosa.

Also noteworthy for their attention to detail when catering to families are the Barceló Gran Faro Los Cabos, with its eco-adventures like whale-watching, and the Barceló Puerto Vallarta with its kids club and four pools—one for sports, two for families, and one especially for kids.
