Remember those “Bo knows baseball” and “Bo knows football” ads? Bethann Platt, a corporate/leisure agent with Frosch International Travel, knows booking Atlantis, and she shed some light on things.

Ed Wetschler (EW): Why do clients choose Atlantis?

Bethann Platt (BP): They want a dream family vacation. Typically they’ll have had this trip in mind for years in advance. They ask me about the quick flights, the various room options and the dolphins.

EW: Of those room options, is there a favorite?

BP: That depends upon who’s going. For example, the Beach Tower is a good family value. On the other hand, some prefer the atmosphere of The Cove—it’s less hustle bustle.

EW: Aside from the fact that meal plans are commissionable, how do you feel about them?

BP: They are among the best features of Atlantis. There are so many options, and most of the restaurants participate in at least some of them. Pricewise, this is the only way to go.

EW: Does Marriott’s recent membership in the Marriott Autograph Collection change the way you would do business with Atlantis? And if so, how?

BP: I haven’t seen any effect on how we book or do business with Atlantis. I certainly mention to clients (corporate clients, too) that Atlantis stays now go toward Marriott Rewards points. Atlantis has always been agent friendly. If I call them directly about a confusing promotion, they explain things. They speak my language. They also pay commissions quickly.
