Airlines up the ante with added additional airlift. American Airlines has added weekly non-stop connections from Miami to Martinique, featuring a departure and return on Wednesdays, from June 1 through Aug. 13. The service is in addition to the weekly service on Saturdays from Miami to Fort-de-France, the island’s capital. The new service runs Wednesdays departing Martinique at 3:30 p.m. and arriving in Miami at 7 p.m. Departures from Miami are at 11:20 a.m. with a 2:50 p.m. arrival. For travelers looking to visit the British Virgin Islands, there is now more accessibility than ever with increased flights. Cape Air added a direct flight into Virgin Gorda from San Juan, as well as regularly scheduled flights into Beef Island, all which can be booked through jetblue.com. Cape Air also offers interline agreements with American Airlines with flights bookable on aa.com, as well as a codeshare agreement with United Airlines, making the check-in baggage processes easier as bags are transferred without having to be rechecked. Seaborne Airlines recently announced an interline agreement with Delta Air Lines, which can be booked on delta.com.
