Grand Case Beach Club is also a short drive from St. Martin’s famous Orient Beach. This long stretch of sand is notorious for its nude sunbathers—but conservative clients shouldn’t fear, as the “suit-optional” section of the beach is relatively small and positioned at the far end of the stretch. The rest of Orient Beach is lined with watersports huts, beach loungers shaded with umbrellas, and restaurants that reframe traditional ideas about beach food. At Waikiki Beach, for example, clients can snack on an arrangement of dips like hummus, guacamole, and olive spread; sample a trio of tuna ceviche; or go the traditional route with a family-style platter of Caribbean lobster, shrimp skewers, tuna and swordfish. beyond the shore While St. Martin has plenty of attractions on its mainland, offshore islands like Pinel and Tintamarre offer some of the area’s most unique experiences. On Pinel Island, clients will find a relaxed daytime resort atmosphere perfect for whiling away a morning, afternoon, or entire day. After docking or, for guests traveling by large boat, wading to shore, clients are met by a beach lined with loungers; farther back from shore sit three restaurants, each with its own specialties. Lobster is the specialty at Karibuni, which also makes its own vanilla- and banana-infused rum for guests to sample by the shot. Yellow Bar serves traditional French fare like escargot and beef in camembert sauce, while at The Key, guests can enjoy a 2-for-1 happy hour and an equal exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and the euro. Watersports like snorkeling and kayaking round out the activities here.
The island of Tintamarre is a more deserted locale, with an uninhabited beach lined by trees that obscure hidden mud pits said to do wonders for the skin. If clients run into any other visitors to Tintamarre, they’ll probably be covered, head to toe, in the mud, letting the sun dry it before rinsing it off in the sea.
The Scoobidoo charter boat line offers tours to both Pinel Island and Tintamarre, via either the large ScoobiToo or ScoobiFree catamarans or the smaller and speedier ScoobiCat.
