Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos, has partnered with Guadalajara-based artist David Luna to offer experiential art-inspired programming.

Luna will be the property’s Rosewood PlaceMaker, the latest component of the brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy. His artwork is inspired by the culture and history of Guadalajara, and includes pieces such as the sculptural trees and birdcage lights at the resort’s restaurant, Arbol. Guests at Las Ventanas al Paraiso will be invited to explore Mexico’s local culture through curated programming rooted devised by the artist.

Programming at the resort will include A Tequila Tasting & Art Tour, where Luna will escort guests on a day trip to his hometown in Jalisco to explore the Agave fields, visit a tequila distillery, and experience a private tasting in the town of Tequila. The day will conclude with a tour of Tlaquepaque-based artist Rodo Padilla’s studio and dinner at Luna’s flagship store, Casa Luna, a hybrid Mexican art shop and restaurant.

Launching in 2021, the resort’s programming will include the Art de la Table experience. Guests will be invited to design and decorate a dinner setting at Las Ventanas, using a variety of natural local produce, such as red hot poker and prickly pearls, as well as pink flowers from the chollas and rainbow cacti. Luna’s unique collection of original hand-crafted pieces, dried gourds, raw wood and leather goods are the centerpieces for his style that pays homage to his Mexican roots.
