InterContinental Welcomes Nine New Hotels into Its Portfolio

InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City is now welcoming guests to its location in the Chao Tian Men Square of downtown Chongqing. Part of the iconic Raffles City complex, this high-rise hotel is conveniently located at the intersection of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers.

Later this year, Thailand will welcome the Khao Yai National Park, located in the Khao Yai National Park UNESCO World Heritage Site just over two hours north-west of Bangkok.

The Chiang Mae Ping Hotel, set to open in late 2021, is a restoration of the illustrious Imperial Mae Ping Hotel, a classic hotel that has remained popular for more than 30 years.

On September 1, the London Park Lane reopens as part of the hotel’s Mayfair Collection with a unique collection of elegant suites and a desirous location where two Royal Parks meet.

Following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment, Queensland, Australia will open its doors to the Sanctuary Cove Resort, with 251 guest rooms and suites and inspired by the resort’s one-acre Lagoon Beach Pool and tropical gardens surrounding the property.

Also new to the property’s portfolio is Fiji’s Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, set to be rebranded as an Intercontinental in 2022. Scheduled to open in 2022 is the InterContinental Rome, set on the famed Via Veneto, close to the Villa Borghese. 2023 will welcome to Vietnam the Halong Bay Resort with 175 guest rooms.

Set for completion in 2023 on the Cote d’Azur is the InterContinental Carlton Cannes to include an extension and 37 new branded suites.

Earlier this year in Japan, The Strings by InterContinental in Tokyo completed its multi-million-dollar refurbishment, revealing an all-new Club InterContinental Lounge and full refurbishment of its restaurant, bar and lobby. The expansion of ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort launched in July and the ANA InterContinental Tokyo recently opened its all-new Club InterContinental Lounge with a complete overhaul of furnishings and design and the largest Club lounge in Tokyo.

Later this year, the Luanda Miramar will open in the Angolan capital, along the South Atlantic Coast of Western Africa, minutes from Luanda Bay.

Southern Thailand will welcome the Yao Yai Resort next year with unique architectural design elements unique to Southern Thailand.

In 2021, UAE InterContinental Mina Al Arab in Ras Al Khaimah will welcome guests with 350 guest rooms and suites, health club, spa and two swimming pools. The resort is a short drive from famous archaeological sites such as Dhayah Fort and Sheba’s Palace.

Later this year, the Intercontinental Berlin will  refurbish its 558 rooms and public spaces while the hotel remains open. Rooms are expected to be completed later this year.

South Korea’s Grand Seoul Parnas in the business and entertainment district of Gangnam is currently undergoing a one-year renovation with rooms set to reopen in late 2020.
