Travelers can explore Havana with AdventureSmith Explorations’ People to People Cruise itinerary to Cuba.

Starting this December, AdventureSmith Explorations will be launching 8-day tours, Cuba People to People Cruise, running through April 2016.

Guests will board a recently refurbished 49-passenger vessel, the Panorama, which will sail from Cuba and stop in five ports along the island’s western and southern shores, including Havana, Maria LaGorda, Cayo Largo, Trinidad and Cienfuego. Guests will take in Cuba’s artistic heritage, pre-Columbian culture, Spanish colonialism, and contemporary art. Though most meals take place on the ship, travelers will get to enjoy local cuisine on scheduled stops at restaurants and paladares (in-home businesses). Cruisers will also have an evening with the Buena Vista Social Club, a visit with the Community Cultural Project of Quisicuaba, time to relax on the beach, and a visit to a beekeeping and honey production center. While in Cayo Largo, guests will take part in discussions with Cuban sports, culture, and mass communications experts and local doctors, visit a sea turtle breeding center, and enjoy an afternoon of snorkeling. Rates start at $4,799 pp dbl and include roundtrip airfare from Miami, all meals, cabin accommodations, Cuban visa, mandatory Cuban medical insurance, and transportation.
