At a laser center in Papenburg, Germany, executives from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and MEYER WERFT met to cut a piece of steel thus marking the start of construction for the cruise line’s newest ship, Norwegian Encore.

Set to be delivered on October 31, 2019, Norwegian Encore will accommodate nearly 4,000 guests and sail 7-day weekly Caribbean journeys departing on Sundays from PortMiami. The ship will be the 17th ship in the NCL fleet and the fourth and final ship in the Breakaway Plus Class.

More details on the ship’s design and accommodations, as well as its dining and onboard offerings will be shared in the coming months. Reservations for the inaugural season can be made starting in March 2018.
