With some 50 properties and 13,000 rooms open or in various stages of development across the world, including in Paris, Istanbul, Hamburg and Buenos Aires, Curio ­– A Collection by Hilton, whose portfolio of upscale and luxury hotels are hand-picked for their unique character, is not resting on its laurels.

In the Caribbean, Curio has tagged Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort & Spa, Ocho Rios and Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa Runaway Bay, while stateside, the SLS Las Vegas and the Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood in Florida are part of the Curio brand. In Georgia, The Partridge Inn Augusta, a property known as “The Grand Hotel of the Classic South,” dating back to the early 1800s, has also joined the collection. The property’s renovated guestrooms (143 in all) span across five floors and offer guests views of the area’s gardens, the pool or the Augusta skyline. The Asheville Foundry Inn in North Carolina, meanwhile, will join the collection in December 2016; the newbuild, 92-room property will preserve existing buildings to maintain the character of the local community.

Over in London, the first Curio-branded hotel in the UK, Lincoln Plaza London, is expected to open in late 2016. This 129-guestroom property offers views over the River Thames, and features a gym, an organic deli, Indian and Mediterranean restaurants, a rooftop terrace with two bars, and a lounge bar at the mezzanine level.

After reaching an agreement with Royal International, Hilton Hotels is set to open its first property under theCurio brand in the United Arab Emirates. The 450-guestroom Rosemont Hotel and Residences property, expected to welcome guests in 2018, will feature three restaurants, a lobby cafe, two bars, a gym, an outdoor pool and a spa. In addition to the Rosemont, the Middle East will also welcome Curio – A Collection by Hilton Mall of Qatar in 2016.

Other Curio properties debuting in late 2015 and early 2016 are The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Michigan and the Redmont Hotel Birmingham, as well as the LondonHouse in Chicago.

Hilton’s newest brand, Canopy by Hilton, recently announced it will be opening eight additional properties—it already has more than 20 properties in various stages of development. The eight additional properties in development include Canopy West Palm Beach, Canopy Denver-Downtown, Canopy Washington, D.C.-Southwest Waterfront, Canopy New Orleans, Canopy Dallas-Uptown, Canopy Baltimore-Harbor Point, Canopy Minneapolis-Mill District, and Canopy Chicago-The Loop. Canopy Reyjavik-City Centre is expected to open in Iceland early 2016, and will be the first hotel to open for the brand.

Steps away from Fort Lauderdale’s North Beach, the beachfront Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is expected to open in early 2016 between Sunrise and Las Olas boulevards. This nautically inspired resort will feature 290 studio and suite accommodations, indoor and alfresco dining experiences, a 4,000-sq.-ft. oceanview spa, a fitness center, plus an elevated deck oasis with an oceanfacing pool and cabanas. Floor-to-ceiling windows and glass balconies with ocean and intracoastal views; yacht-inspired decor featuring white furnishings with touches of natural elements such as chestnut teak and leather; bathrooms with marble soaking tubs and rainfall showers; and kitchenettes with a Sub-Zero refrigerator and Wolf touchscreen stovetops sum up a few of the amenities found in guestrooms.

Over in Dallas, a new resort-style pool complex will be added to the Hilton Anatole, with an expected completion date of mid-May 2016. The estimated $15 million project will convert a portion of the hotel’s 7-acre Sculpture Park and tennis courts into a world-class water facility spanning over approximately three acres and featuring multiple heated pools and recreation areas, walking paths and green spaces, plus new food and beverage options at a new outdoor restaurant and bar, as well as a 23-seat swim-up bar. Other family-friendly features include a leisure pool, a beach-entry family pool, a lazy river, cabanas, a splash zone and two 30-ft. slides. The new complex at the 1,606-guestroom property will be open Memorial Day through Labor Day each year, with the leisure pool in operation throughout the year.
