Occidental Hotels & Resorts announced that Barcelo Corporation Empresarial reached an agreement with BBVA to acquire 57.5 percent of its capital in Occidental Hotels Management.
This will make the Barcelo Group the sole owner of Occidental Hotels once the terms are settled between both parties. Once the agreement is completed, Barcelo will take over management of the Occidental portfolio and can also obtain 100 percent of the shares of the company.
Currently, Occidental Hotels portfolio consists of more than 4,000 rooms and 11 hotels throughout Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Aruba, plus two separate hotels in Colombia and Haiti. For more information, visit occidentalhotels.com.
