1 Hotel West Hollywood opened its doors this July as the West Coast flagship and fourth property of 1 Hotels, the luxury lifestyle hotel brand inspired by nature and sustainability.

The new hotel seeks to position itself at the forefront of sustainable hospitality, with an Energy Star score of 95 that makes it one of the mist energy efficient hotels in L.A. It’s property-wide conservation practices include native and adaptive vegetation, a smart irrigation system that determines when soil actually needs water; as well as a 100 percent organic, sustainably-grown vegetable garden and neighboring beehive, plus 100-year old olive trees.

“1 Hotel West Hollywood will undoubtedly set a new standard for luxury hotel experiences in Los Angeles while staying true to our mission of inspiring conscious consumption,” said 1 Hotels founder, CEO and chairman of Starwood Capital Group Barry Sternlicht in a press release statement. “Now, more than ever, the idea of living well includes protecting the natural beauty around us.”

The hotel features 285 guest rooms and suites, including dual penthouses that are set to debut later this summer. It offers a plunge pool and lounge deck overlooking West Hollywood, and a range of culinary options. Executive Chef Chris Crary has created a menu of zero-waste dishes using locally sourced California cuisine with Italian influences, while bar and lounge Juniper Tree offers handcrafted cocktails and local craft beers.
