Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana is gearing up to celebrate the July unveiling of its major expansion that will treble the Mexican hotel’s number of suites and add recreational areas. The project’s completion coincides with the Merida property’s second anniversary.

The 18th-century hacienda had 18 historic suites prior to the project, now it has an additional 36 new suites, including several with plunge pools, that mix wood, leather, regional limestone and Yucatan pasta tiles to create spaces that are comfortable and functional yet sympathetic to their environment.

New recreational areas have also been created, including a fitness center, a spa and wellness centre, an Olympic-length swimming pool and a solarium with a poolside snack bar that can accommodate up to 50 people, plus eight more at the bar. The solarium and pool area has lounge chairs, Balinese beds and four outdoor showers.

“We are proud to give a new face to this property that is so rich in history and architecture, and we can say that we managed to transcend, preserving its essence while creating a new concept of hospitality”, said Peter Hechler, v.p. of operations for the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East for the Banyan Tree Group, in a press statement.

Current offers at the Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana include Stay More, Pay Less, which gives 25% off to guests who stay a minimum of four nights. The offer is bookable from now until Dec. 25, 2022 for stays by Dec. 25, 2022. Guests can save 15% off for bookings made from now until Dec. 21, 2022 for stays by Dec. 21, 2022 through its Blissful Escape offer. The hotel also has Stay 3, Pay 2 and Stay 7, Pay 5 offers for minimum stays of three nights and seven nights, respectively. Bookings for the former need to be made by Dec. 28, 2022 for travel by Dec. 31, 2022. The cash in on the Stay 7, Pay 5 offer, guests need to book by Dec. 24, 2022 for stays by Dec. 31, 2022.
