Eye on the World: Miami

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Recently two of Recommend’s editors had the opportunity to be tourists in our own backyard. We ventured out to various neighborhoods of Miami for a Historical Miami tour with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau. We visited a historical mansion—Vizcaya—that has been around since the early 1920s; we toured Miami by boat getting a glimpse of how the rich and famous live, while also absorbing a bit of this history on how Miami came to be; we visited farmlands (yes, Miami isn’t all beaches and sand) and sipped on milkshakes made with natural ingredients; and ventured into the cultural neighborhoods of Overtown, Little Haiti and finally Little Havana, where we basically ate our way through Cuban history. Now you can travel along with us through our photo montage of this very informative (and very tasty) tour through Miami.
