Windstar Cruises president John Delaney wants to help promote Puerto Rico and the rest of the Caribbean after its recent hit with the hurricanes earlier this year. Delaney will be sailing on Windstar’s first cruise departing from San Juan this season on Nov. 25 to show that both Puerto Rico, as well as the rest of the Caribbean, are open for business.

Delaney will arrive on the island a day prior to the cruise’s departure to tour Old San Juan, where he will be sharing his first-person updates via his Twitter account (@JohnDelaneyWSC) and on Windstar’s Facebook page (@WindstarCruises).

In addition, Windstar is now offering a special—the Caribbean is Open Cruise package—to encourage travelers back to the islands including savings, a $200 shipboard credit, and free onboard WiFi; rates start at $1,499 pp.

Windstar also recently announced that it will now call at Anse Mitan in Martinique and Deshaies in Guadeloupe, visiting smaller, rarely visited islands of the Caribbean. Plus, the new Jewels of the Windward Islands itinerary was added to the 2017/18 Caribbean sailings visiting Saint Lucia and lesser-known islands such as Bequia in the Grenadines.
