Pacific Delight has added the archaeological sites of the Angkor Plains to its second Jewish interest tour of Southeast Asia in 2018.
The Southeast Asia through Jewish Eyes itinerary will depart on Dec. 11, 2018 for a 15-day journey visiting Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. Highlights of the tour in Singapore include Shabbat with the Jewish community at Singapore’s historic Chesed El Synagogue, a night safari to observe nocturnal wildlife, and a visit to Marina Bay. In Thailand, guests can expect to explore Chiang Mai’s rainforests, take a boat ride on Bangkok’s “River of Kings” to visit the Temple of Dawn and the Grand Palace, and much more.
The group will then move on to Myanmar where modern-day Burmese-Jewish businessmen have worked to preserve the 19th-century Musmeah Yeshua Synagogue. In addition to experiencing Shabbat with the small Jewish community there, guests will also travel to Bagan, Myanmar’s ancient capital. The trip concludes with a visit to Siem Reap, where highlights include the archaeological sites of Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat.
