Overlooking Saint Lucia’s colorful Soufriere Bay, and with sweeping views of the majestic twin Pitons and Caribbean Sea, Jade Mountain encompasses 600 acres including two beaches, miles of private walking and mountain biking trails, plus a variety of water sports. Located on the island’s southwestern Caribbean coastline, a 6-minute helicopter ride from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) or a picturesque hour-long ride by land taxi, the resort offers 29 unique open-walled guest “sanctuaries,” each with en-suite infinity pools, panoramic views, four-poster canopy beds and major-domos (private butlers).

Karolin Troubetzkoy, executive director of Jade Mountain, says, “Once the doors to your private sanctuary have opened and you take in the amazing scenery surrounding you, and then take a plunge in your heated infinity pool, you cannot help but be inspired.”

Main Points of Distinction
Jade Mountain’s primary point-of-distinction is its enviable location overlooking the twin peaks of The Pitons World Heritage Site. The remote location, along with a pioneering and sustainable open-air design, which eliminates the need for A.C., immerses guests in the area’s lush, tropical environment. Another point of distinction is the locally immersive culinary program incorporating fresh ingredients from the resort’s Emerald Estate Regenerative Farm plus the offering of various related events and experiences. Events range from an annual Mango Festival to vegan cooking lessons with a side of Creole history that honors Saint Lucia’s rich cultural heritage. An onsite Chocolate Laboratory, managed by the resorts’ very own chocolate alchemist, allows guests the opportunity to take classes in the art of chocolate-making.

Health & Safety Protocols and Procedures
Jade Mountain follows all the expected health and safely protocols plus Troubetzkoy says that in order to protect the health of both guests and spa team members, “unvaccinated guests who wish to enjoy a spa treatment must have a negative antigen test result on the day of service, and the resort can facilitate the testing.” You can find the most up-to-date info here: jademountain.com/covid-19.html

New Programs
In 2021 the resort launched a Singlemoon package for stays of five to seven nights. Designed for the guest who is just looking to escape it all with a solo getaway, the offer includes luxury airport transfers, champagne on arrival, wellness consultations with the resort’s holistic health practitioner and tailored spa treatments, plus the opportunity to learn a new skill such as chocolate making or scuba diving.

Activities on Offer
The resort offers daily yoga, meditations, breath-work, Ayurvedic spa treatments at the full-service Kai en Ciel Spa, and there is a wide range of adventure activities including jungle biking, daily escorted walks and hikes, scuba diving and paddleboarding, as well sea kayaking. Ideal Clients
Drawing guests from around the globe, the property caters largely to couples, which make up a large portion of its guest demographic, but the solo travel market is also becoming an increasingly popular demographic. The resort’s culinary and wellness offerings are well-suited to health-conscious travelers, vegan travelers, and small incentive groups looking for a restful and rejuvenating holiday. Jade Mountain is adults-only, but its adjoining sister resort Anse Chastanet, welcomes children from age 10 in the winter months and age 6 in the summer.

Ultimate Escape—For Romantics to Yogis
Jade Mountain promotes itself as having something for everyone, whether it’s the curious adventurer looking to cross “climbing the Pitons” off his/her bucket list, the foodie looking for creative ways to eat mindfully, the yogi who has always dreamed of meditating under the stars, or the couple in search of the ultimate romantic escape. “Jade Mountain is the perfect place to reset your mind, body and spirit, reboot your mental and physical well-being, and break out of your comfort zone by trying a new adventure activity…or two,” says Troubetzkoy.

Customized Programs
Everything the resort offers is customizable. Personalized itineraries, meals, spa treatments, onsite activities and off-site experiences can be arranged in advance or upon guests’ arrival. The resort’s private butlers are also there to ensure personalized service with a strong attention to detail.

Best Time to Visit
Saint Lucia is a very poplar year-round warm weather destination. The months of December to April are considered the months with the least rainfall, while guests traveling between May to November may experience the occasional shower.

Speaking about her husband and resort-owner Nick Troubetzkoy, Karolin says, “His passion for Saint Lucia and his unique architectural vision have created an unforgettable and inspiring resort environment that celebrates life, love and is anchored deeply in regenerative principles.”
