Luxury resort Half Moon in Montego Bay has officially reopened its Eclipse hotel, marking a major milestone in the destination’s recovery following Hurricane Melissa in October 2025.
The reopening was commemorated with an on-site ceremony attended by tourism officials and hospitality leaders, including Edmund Bartlett, Jamaican Minister of Tourism, alongside ownership and management representatives.
Open and Ready for Business
Eclipse at Half Moon features 57 beachfront accommodations, anchored by an infinity-edge pool, swimming coves and a range of dining venues and bars. The resort has also reopened its newly refreshed villa product, offering six- and seven-bedroom accommodations suited for multigenerational travel and small groups. Additional legacy accommodations are expected to return later this year.
Dining outlets, including Delmare, Hayward’s and North Pointe, are now operational, alongside more casual options such as beachfront and bar concepts. The resort’s full suite of amenities has also resumed, including the Fern Tree Spa, a Robert Trent Jones Sr. golf course, tennis facilities, an equestrian center and a range of water-based activities.
Managed by Salamander Collection, the property is located approximately 10 minutes from Sangster International Airport and spans a two-mile stretch of beachfront. Half Moon is part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection.
Welcome Back Offer
To support the reopening, the resort has introduced a “Welcome Back Home” offer, which includes a complimentary fourth night with a 3-night stay, daily breakfast and children five and under dine complimentary. The promotion is valid for stays through Dec. 19, 2026, with booking deadlines in mid-December.
