AMResorts has reopened its properties Dreams Dominicus La Romana and Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2.

The reopening ceremony was held on October 1 at the Dreams Dominicus La Romana, and was attended by Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic David Collado, as well as Daniel Hernandez, regional vice president of operations of AMResorts in the Dominican Republic, Denis Rosario, regional director of finance of AMResorts, and Luis Nunez, regional commercial director of AMResorts. They were also accompanied by Javier Tejada, property representative, and Amando Pozo, managing director of Dreams Dominicus La Romana, among other resort representatives and executives.

“We are eager to continue to reenergize travel to the Dominican Republic and safely welcome guests back to their favorite beachside destinations this month, beginning with the latest reopenings of Dreams Dominicus La Romana and Dreams Punta Cana,” said Gonzalo del Peon, president of AMResorts, in a press release statement. “Within a few more weeks, AMResorts will have eight luxury resorts back online in the country, with more on the way, all ready to offer the highest level of service and quality, plus best-in-class safety and hygiene protocols to support traveler confidence this winter season.”

The opening ceremony began with welcome remarks by Hernandez and remarks by Collado, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony joined by Paola Rainieri, president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic, and Andres Fernandez, president of the La Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association, among others. The event, which followed safety guidelines, concluded with a toast and the welcoming of the resort’s first guest.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana offers 488 rooms and suites, many overlooking the Caribbean Sea, as well as four swimming pools, ten restaurant options and eight bars.

AMResorts plans several more resort re-openings later this month, as well as in November and December, and aims to reopen all properties in the Dominican Republic by the end of the year. Zoetry Agua Punta Cana will reopen its doors on October 13; Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana on October 14; Sunscape Puerto Plata on October 16; and Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana on October 31.
