Explore Tasmania with Swain Destinations’ new Discover Tasmania program. Guests who are not afraid of “roughing it” will enjoy all of the wildlife and natural features Australia has to offer.

After landing in Melbourne, guests jump on a connecting flight to Tasmania’s second oldest city, Launceston, where their 13-day custom itinerary begins. Highlights include viewing Tasmania’s highest mountain, Mount Ossa, and its deepest lake, Lake St. Clair, at Cradle Mountain National Park. Guests also take a seaplane flight over ranges, canyons, Macquarie Harbour and “Frenchman’s Cap,” an alpine peak, in Strahan. Later in the journey, guests bushwalk, birdwatch and spot possums and wallabies at Freycinet National Park. After returning to Melbourne, guests take a tour of the city’s famous floral clock, botanic gardens, Victoria Market, and Old Melbourne Gaol. Rates start at $1,170 for a standard twin room with options for Superior, and Deluxe hotel accommodations. International air is not included.
