For thousands of years, the San people, or Bushmen of South Africa, lived off of the land as hunter-gatherers, utilizing traps, throwing sticks, and bows and poisoned arrows to catch their food in the wilderness. Today, your clients can get a glimpse of this traditional lifestyle through andBeyond’s interactive Bushmen Experience, which is now available at the Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge in Botswana. On this half-day walking tour, guests are led by three local Bushmen who demonstrate their indigenous hunting and survival techniques by interpreting their natural surroundings including wildlife, wild vegetables, fruits and insects.

In addition to the Bushmen Experience, Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge—an intimate refuge featuring nine private African safari suites overlooking a seasonal lagoon—offers game drives, scenic helicopter flights and horseback safaris, as well as seasonal water-based experiences, including motorized boat, canoeing in a mokoro and fishing excursions. All-inclusive rates at andBeyond’s Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge start at $1,715 pp per night from June 1-Oct. 31, 2016, and include accommodations, three daily meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, safari activities, refreshments on game drives, emergency medical evacuation insurance and airport transfers.
