Adolfo Perez, Carnival Cruise Line’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Trade Marketing, has announced his retirement after 43 years with the company. His announcement marks the end of an illustrious career that began in 1982.
From Ticket Agent to SVP
While still in high school, Perez started with Carnival as a ticket agent at the Miami pier. Over the years, he held key leadership positions, including Vice President of Carnival’s contact center and Vice President of Carnival UK & Ireland, where he opened the company’s London office. In 2018, he was promoted to his current role, where he was pivotal in strengthening Carnival’s relationships with travel advisors and major travel retailers.
Perez’s contributions led to multiple recognitions for Best Cruise Line for Families and Best Travel Advisor Loyalty Program. Initiatives such as the Agentpalooza summer bus tour, enhanced business education for advisors and the revamped GoCCL advisor website further solidified Carnival’s engagement with the travel advisor community.
In 2022, he was honored with the Cruise Lines International Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I’ve had the privilege of holding many different roles during my career with Carnival, but these last few years working with the sales team and travel advisor community have been a highlight,” said Perez, in a press statement. “Selling travel and creating unforgettable guest experiences has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful for the amazing people who have made this journey so special.”
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, praised Perez’s contributions in a press statement: “Adolfo has been a valuable leader at Carnival for over four decades, and it’s hard to imagine Carnival without him. We support his decision and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.”
Carnival Corporation Chairman Micky Arison also expressed his appreciation: “Adolfo’s dedication to Carnival and the travel advisor community is legendary. His ‘Travel Agents Rock’ tattoo says it all—he leaves behind a lasting legacy and many friends who wish him well, myself included.”
Carnival Cruise Line will announce plans for the future leadership of its sales and trade marketing team at a later date.
