Big Apple Lux
After a lengthy transformation, the Waldorf Astoria New York has reopened with a reimagined mix of accommodations, residences, wellness offerings and dining venues.
The property has shifted from its previous 1,400-room layout to a more intimate configuration of 375 guestrooms and 372 residences—most guestrooms exceed 570 square feet. This fall, the hotel will also debut five specialty suites, ranging in size from 1,550 to more than 5,000 square feet.
Highlights include the Manhattan Suite, designed as a collector’s residence; the Empire Suite, evoking a quintessential New York apartment; and the more than 5,000-square-foot Waldorf Astoria Suite, a Parisian-inspired space with a piano, media room and the option to expand into a four-bedroom layout.
The Guerlain Wellness Spa, opening this fall, spans more than 20,000 square feet with 16 treatment rooms, two VIP suites and a 7,000-square-foot fitness center.
Culinary programming has also returned. Peacock Alley revives its legacy as a social hub; Lex Yard, led by Chef Partner Michael Anthony, offers seasonal menus with private dining options; and Yoshoku, a kaiseki-inspired restaurant by Chef Ry Nitzkowski, reinterprets Japanese tradition through a six-course tasting menu and à la carte dishes.
