We’re loving the name: The Napa Valley Wine Train recently announced the Grape Stomp at Grgich Hills package—you have to admit it sounds like a blast!

Only available during harvest season, this package offers your clients quite the immersive experience: after a gourmet multi-course lunch prepared by Chef Rodrigo Cuadra aboard the Wine Train, guests will travel to Grgich Hills Estate to immerse their feet in a barrel of freshly picked grapes to stomp, just as founder and winemaker emeritus Miljenko “Mike” Grgich did as a child in Croatia. Afterward, they will enjoy a private tasting at the winery that put Napa Valley on the map following the famous 1976 Paris Tasting.

“Harvest is the most exciting time to be in Napa Valley, and we are thrilled to offer this special experience with Grgich Hills Estate, one of the most famous wineries in the world,” said Nathan Davis, general manager of the Napa Valley Wine Train, in a press statement. “The Grape Stomp at Grgich Hills allows guests to experience what it was like to make wine a hundred of years ago, drinking world-class wine and enjoying an indulgent lunch prepared to order all while riding our historic train.”

The Grape Stomp at Grgich Hills begins at 10:30 a.m., and boarding starts at 10:50 a.m. The train departs from its Downtown Napa station at 11:30 a.m. for the 30-mile trip to Grgich Hills Estate. A multi-course gourmet lunch is served before arriving at 12:30 p.m. when the stomping begins while they enjoy the latest releases. Guests board the train at 1:30 p.m. back to the station while enjoying coffee service and a decadent dessert before returning at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Grape Stomp at Grgich Hills experience are only offered from Sept. 2 through Oct. 28, 2022, Monday through Friday.
