Fans of Spellbound by Magic Castle on Princess Cruises will be happy to know there will be an enhanced version aboard the new Star Princess. This innovative entertainment offering, created in collaboration with the Hollywood institution The Magic Castle, promises to transport your clients into a world of illusion and wonder at sea.
“Spellbound has quickly become one of the most talked-about experiences at sea, and we’re thrilled to take it to the next level aboard Star Princess,” said Lorna Warren, Princess Cruises Vice President Hotel Operations and Guest Experiences, in a press statement. “By bringing to life the spirit and setting of the original Magic Castle in Hollywood, our reimagined speakeasy will deliver a one-of-a-kind venue where every guest can feel like they’ve stepped into a world of true magic.”
Star Princess’s New Sparkles
The reimagined Spellbound builds upon its successful debut on Sun Princess, now paying tribute to the golden age of magic. A highlight of this new version is its homage to Richard Valentine Pitchford, known professionally as Cardini, a master of sleight of hand and theatrical illusion. Cardini’s influence extends to the present day through his great-nephew, Randy Pitchford, who owns The Magic Castle.
Guests will go through a series of themed spaces, each designed to heighten the sense of mystery and enchantment. These areas include a ticketing booth, the Inner Circle, Cardini Bar, a backstage area and the Peacock Theater. Each space features curated decor and atmospheric lighting that contribute to the overall magical ambiance.
The Cardini Bar offers guests an exclusive cocktail menu with concoctions that perfectly complement the venue’s mystical atmosphere. Signature drinks include The Inner Circle, a milk-washed Meili vodka infused with jasmine tea notes, and the Cardini, a butter-washed rum Old Fashioned.
Spellbound by Magic Castle will be available to all Star Princess guests, with multiple nightly showtimes. The $45 admission fee includes two signature cocktails and a magic performance. Tickets are available for purchase in advance through the cruise line’s website or onboard the ship. Unlike the previous show, this version of Spellbound does not include dinner service.
The 177,800-ton Star Princess, currently in its final construction phase at Fincantieri, will accommodate 4,300 guests. The ship has 30 distinct dining and bar venues, along with a range of entertainment options and luxurious accommodations. These include Sanctuary Collection suites, mini-suites and over 1,500 balcony staterooms offering panoramic ocean views.
