Silversea has completed a full-scale refurbishment of Silver Muse, marking its first major dry dock since the ship entered service in 2017. The renovation includes an updated suite selection, contemporary public spaces, expanded activity offerings, and the introduction of the line’s signature S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) culinary program, part of Silversea’s fleetwide commitment to immersive regional dining.

“The transformation of Silver Muse underscores our commitment to delivering the most exceptional experiences at sea,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea, in a press statement. “By introducing our acclaimed S.A.L.T. program and elevating key spaces, we are enriching the intimacy, elegance, and culinary immersion that define Silversea. These enhancements reflect our guests’ feedback and our dedication to bringing more of what they love—enriching every voyage with culture and flavor.”

The ship’s revitalization took place at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard, followed by a 14-night return voyage from Barcelona to Lisbon in late December. Passengers on this Mediterranean sailing were the first to experience a series of newly added features intended to enhance onboard dining, recreation and suite comfort.

Silversea: A Culinary Journey

Central to the transformation is the debut of S.A.L.T. Kitchen and S.A.L.T. Bar. The program, already popular on other Silversea ships, connects guests to local destinations through food and drink. Menus rotate according to itinerary, using regional flavors and culinary techniques. The adjoining S.A.L.T. Bar complements the concept with cocktails made from local ingredients and regional liquors.

Food and beverage improvements extend across the ship’s existing venues. At Dolce Vita, the Italian-inspired aperitivo service introduces new cocktail creations, including the Cerberus Negroni—made with gin, Pedro Ximenez–infused Campari and sage butter vermouth. The Arts Cafe now features revised pastry selections and premium Ronnefeldt tea service. At La Terrazza, guests find a tableside martini cart, specialty cocktails and alcohol-free alternatives paired with a modern Italian menu. The Grill, the poolside venue, offers updated classics, while in-suite dining provides an expanded menu and refreshed presentation, served by a dedicated butler team.

Public areas also received attention. The pool deck now features upgraded furnishings, while new recreation options include a pickleball court, a putting green and a simulation experience.

Accommodations have been reconfigured to include the new Medallion Suites category. These suites include a veranda, a bathroom with a double vanity and a full tub, a walk-in shower and a private bedroom with a king bed.

The Silver Muse renovation is the start of a wider fleet strategy. Silversea has confirmed that Silver Spirit will be the next ship to undergo refurbishment. Scheduled for later this year in Palermo, Silver Spirit’s updates will bring expanded public spaces, refreshed interiors, S.A.L.T. Kitchen and S.A.L.T. Bar and an updated pool deck.
