Sandals Dunn’s River made a splash on national television when NBC’s TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle aired two special episodes from the resort’s oceanfront setting, bringing Jamaica’s culture, music and natural beauty to millions of viewers. Filmed along the beach and across local hotspots, the programs marked the co-hosts’ first trip together since Sheinelle Jones joined Jenna Bush Hager earlier this year. Sponsored by Sandals Resorts and the Jamaica Tourist Board, the broadcast highlighted the island’s rhythm, flavor and creativity from its north coast base.
“Jamaica has always been a place where music, culture and hospitality come together in a way that resonates far beyond our shores,” said Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts, in a press statement. “It was a pleasure to welcome Jenna and Sheinelle to Sandals Dunn’s River and see them experience the island alongside so many incredible Jamaican artists, chefs and performers who bring our culture to life. Watching people fall in love with Jamaica in real time is always special, and we were proud to share that moment with the world.”
Sandals Hearts Jamaica
During the two-day shoot, the hosts welcomed some of Jamaica’s notable names. Sheryl Lee Ralph, recipient of the Order of Jamaica and one of TIME Magazine’s 2026 Women of the Year, reflected on her roots and the island’s spirit. Shaggy joined for a game of “It Wasn’t Me” and discussed Jamaica’s cultural reach. Sean Paul brought dancehall energy, leading the pair through movement lessons before they performed his new single, “Ready for The Ride.” Jamaican chef Andre Fowles and The Rousseau Sisters delivered island flavor through cooking segments focused on local cuisine, while designer Mina Robertson led a fashion feature spotlighting women designers and Jamaica’s creative style scene.
The adventure continued beyond the resort with Island Routes. Traveling by speedboat from Sandals Dunn’s River, the hosts visited Dunn’s River Falls, climbing its limestone terraces before heading to Mystic Mountain for panoramic rainforest views and a bobsled run. Their day ended at Miss T’s Kitchen, a well-loved local restaurant where Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, joined them for lunch, accompanied by a mento band performance celebrating island traditions.
The shows were filmed before a live audience of Sandals Resorts guests, including winners of a national contest who received an all-inclusive Jamaica getaway. The broadcast gave viewers a front-row seat to Jamaica’s cultural energy from the comfort of Sandals Dunn’s River, while reinforcing the island’s connection to music, art and culinary heritage.
