Pendry Hotels & Resorts has marked a key development phase for its first Caribbean resort with the topping off of Pendry Barbados and Pendry Residences Barbados. The property, located on the island’s northwest coast near Speightstown, is scheduled to open in 2027 and will introduce the brand’s contemporary hospitality approach to Barbados.
“Barbados represents an exciting next chapter for Pendry as we prepare to open the first Pendry in the Caribbean,” said Michael Fuerstman, co-founder of Pendry Hotels & Resorts. “The island’s vibrant culture, strong sense of community and stunning coastline made it a natural fit for Pendry.”
Pendry Raises the Luxury Bar
Pendry Barbados will feature 80 oceanfront guestrooms and suites, along with a spa and several dining and social venues. Plans call for a signature restaurant and dockside settings overlooking the marina. Health and wellness amenities will include a fitness center, Compass Sports and Paintbox Children’s Club. A dedicated Celebration Building will offer event space for gatherings and special occasions.
A private 110-berth marina will serve as the base for the brand’s first Pendry Yacht Club. Ownership opportunities for both residences and marina berths are now available. Amenities across the resort include eight treatment rooms at Spa Pendry, fitness and recreation facilities, dining venues and family-oriented programming.
Speightstown is located on the northwest coast of Barbados in the parish of St. Peter. It is the island’s second-largest town and one of the oldest, dating back to the 1600s when it served as a key port for trade with England. Often referred to historically as “Little Bristol,” the town reflects Barbados’ early colonial ties. Today, it retains much of its heritage with restored buildings and local shops lining Queen Street.
Barbados’ accessibility and established reputation as a high-end destination continue to attract international visitors. With direct flights from major U.S., U.K. and Canadian cities, the island pairs natural scenery and cultural depth with a reputation for hospitality, aligning with Pendry’s design-centric, experience-focused ethos.
