Romania, birthplace of the Dracula legend, is embracing its vampire heritage with Dracula Land, a massive theme park expected to break ground near Bucharest in late 2026.
With a price tag of US$1.16 billion (1 billion euros), the 192-acre entertainment destination will feature six detailed lands, 40+ rides and attractions, immersive storytelling and cutting-edge technology.
Six Lands, One Legendary Villain
Guests will be welcomed via a vibrant Main Street inspired by Bucharest’s architecture, enjoying such attractions as the Transylvanian Railway, a double carousel, a Hollywood vampires immersive exhibit and the Legend of Vlad walk-through experience.
The Family Kingdom area at Dracula Land is designed to engage all ages with the Going Batty interactive ride, a Magic Bats ride, a live entertainment stage and a toddler play zone.
The Transylvania area brings the famed region to life with a panoramic backdrop of the Carpathian Mountains, and attractions including the Magic Forest Dark Ride, the Carpathian Express mountain Coaster and a village playground and market.
Looming over the park will be the iconic Dracula’s Castle, where thrill-seekers navigate a winding maze, zip along on the “bat coaster” and dash through eerie catacombs to escape the vampire lord himself. When hunger strikes, guests can feast in the Great Hall, under Dracula’s watchful eye.
The park also pays homage to the famous vampiric cities of New Orleans—featuring a riverboat and the Bayou—and London Town, set in the fog-shrouded Victorian era and inviting guests to train their vampire-hunting skills on a challenging obstacle course.
Staying the Night—If You’re Brave Enough
Among the planned hotels will be the 400-room Dracula Grand Hotel, boasting a wellness center with spa, onsite dining and terrace bar. In addition, the 200-room Dracula Family Hotel will include family-friendly dining and a range of onsite activities.
The project also includes an outlet mall offering a mix of shopping and entertainment as well as the Dracula Land Arena, touted as the first of its kind in Romania and Southeastern Europe, with 22,550 seats, VIP lounges, retail space and two versatile venues.
Dracula Land is moving forward with a possible groundbreaking in 2026 and opening in 2027-2028.
