Aeromexico is redefining the in-flight dining experience through a new collaboration with global design studio NewTerritory, aligning service, culture and design in its Premier One business class.
“Over the last several years, we have built consistent, modern hard products with beautiful cabins, great seats, and a refined brand image. To complete this onboard concept, we needed to relaunch our soft products in a way that brings Mexico’s culture and hospitality to life,” said VP Product and Onboard Services at Aeromexico, Antonio Fernandez, in a press statement. “This new 15-piece collection, designed with NewTerritory, does exactly that. It reflects modern Mexico in the air, while also future-proofing our service moments and improving efficiency through smarter, lighter, and more sustainable design. It complements the work we’ve done on our crew uniforms, ensuring every detail of the Aeromexico experience is part of one bigger, cohesive design story.”
Aeromexico: The Reinvention
After a multiyear update of its hard product, including cabins, seating and textiles, Aeromexico turned attention to onboard service elements that bridge comfort, design and culture. The initiative focuses on dining as an integral expression of hospitality, extending the connection between passengers and crew through detail and design rooted in Mexico’s culinary traditions.
The collection includes more than 15 pieces designed for performance in flight conditions while balancing functionality and consistency. The pieces—plates, bowls, glasses, and mugs—were developed to be lightweight and space-efficient. Each element was engineered to meet aviation safety standards while reducing overall weight and improving service flow.
A central focus is materiality. Porcelain pieces draw cues from Mexican ceramics, with terracotta-inspired reds and the dark colors of Oaxacan clay. The subtle irregularities visible in shape and texture celebrate craftsmanship. Blue-tinted glassware references traditional tequila bottles made from recycled glass, lending a distinct visual identity consistent with the carrier’s emphasis on Mexican-made elements.
The introduction of the Premier One dining and glassware collection will begin on Aeromexico’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft in 2026.
