Velas Resorts’ Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit has completed a yearlong renovation of its Master, Parlor and Grand Terrace suites, a $30 million project finalized late last month. The redesign introduces a contemporary interpretation of the resort’s signature comfort and elegance, centered on natural light, open layouts and materials drawn from the surrounding landscape.

All suites now exceed 1,000 sq. ft. and feature a neutral palette of sand, beige, cream and warm wood tones, with green details inspired by the region’s coastal scenery. The interiors feature polished stone, natural wood paneling, and textured fabrics, with regional craftsmanship evident in detailed textiles and woodwork, creating an authentic sense of place.

The new layouts emphasize flexible relaxation areas, improved ergonomics in seating and bedding and expanded storage. Technology upgrades include energy-efficient light controls and broader connectivity for personal devices. A deliberate lighting plan and open spatial arrangement create clarity and flow.

The use of low-energy lighting, durable materials, and environmentally conscious finishes reduces overall impact while encouraging long-term efficiency. Collaborations with local suppliers also lowered transportation emissions and reinforced the resort’s focus on responsible sourcing within the community.

Clients staying in the renovated suites benefit from high-end accommodations complemented by a la carte dining across multiple specialty restaurants, premium beverages and 24-hour in-suite service.

Set along Banderas Bay’s crescent coastline, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit occupies a rarestretch where calm Pacific waters meet the Sierra Madre foothills. About 20 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, the resort positions guests within easy reach of Riviera Nayarit’s shoreline villages, lush jungles and whale-watching excursions that extend from December to March. Nearby Bucerias offers beachfront art galleries and local dining, while the Marina Vallarta golf courses add variety for longer stays. The region’s consistent 80-degree climate and gentle surf make it equally suited to family vacations, wellness retreats and getaways year-round.
