Arkia Israeli Airlines and Air France are elevating standards sky high with their premium experiences for business and first-class travelers.
Arkia Israeli Airlines’ New Upgrade
Arkia Israeli Airlines is set to enhance its international services by introducing a new business class offering on the New York (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV) route, beginning May 14, 2025. This development marks a significant expansion in Arkia’s operations, utilizing the Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The business class cabin will feature 18 advanced seats that convert into fully reclining flatbeds.
Passengers flying in Arkia’s business class will benefit from exclusive pre-flight privileges. These include access to the Dan Lounge at Ben Gurion Airport and select lounges at JFK, both of which offer Kosher dining options. A dedicated check-in area and expedited boarding process are also designed to streamline the travel experience.
Onboard, travelers will find spacious seating arrangements with fully reclining seats tailored for optimal comfort. The premium service extends to an increased baggage allowance, allowing for a carry-on bag, a trolley, and two checked bags, each up to 70 lbs. High-quality amenities such as personal headphones, a pillow and blanket, a personal water bottle, slippers and a specialized amenities kit are provided to enhance the in-flight experience.
Dining is a highlight of Arkia’s business class. It features two gourmet hot meals and an expanded selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including sparkling drinks and petit fours.

Air France Ups the Ante
Air France is setting new standards in luxury air travel with its reimagined La Premiere experience, set to debut in spring 2025.
The centerpiece of this innovation is the introduction of four expansive suites on select Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Each suite is nearly 38 sq. ft. in size and offers 25 percent more space than its predecessor. The design, developed over three years, showcases French elegance and craftsmanship. It features a unique configuration with a seat and chaise longue that seamlessly convert into a 6.5-ft bed.
A standout feature of these suites is the incorporation of five windows—an Air France exclusive—flooding the space with natural light and creating an atmosphere of openness. Privacy is ensured through floor-to-ceiling curtains, while center suites offer an electric partition for shared travel experiences.
The suite’s design includes full-grain leather and plush wool, and the color palette is dominated by sophisticated grays with touches of red and champagne-colored accents. Practical elements include ample storage space, with floor-level compartments replacing overhead bins, enhancing the sense of spaciousness.
Each suite is equipped with two 32-inch 4K screens, offering over 1,500 hours of entertainment. Connectivity options are comprehensive, including wireless charging and various ports. Air France plans to introduce ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet (summer of 2025), which will be free for Flying Blue and La Premiere customers.
The first aircraft featuring the new La Premiere, named Epernay, will inaugurate service to New York-JFK in spring 2025. Additional routes, including Los Angeles, Singapore and Tokyo-Haneda, will follow in the summer 2025 season.
