Explora Journeys has announced a multi-year global partnership with the Swiss SailGP Team, becoming the team’s title partner as it competes on the international SailGP circuit.
The team will now compete as the Explora Journeys Swiss SailGP Team, marking the luxury cruise line’s latest move to align with high-performance sport and expand brand visibility.
SailGP, often compared to “Formula 1 on water,” features national teams racing identical high-tech F50 foiling catamarans that can reach speeds of up to 60 mph. The championship spans multiple global destinations, with teams accumulating points throughout the season to qualify for the Grand Final.
Brand Alignment with Performance and Precision
Explora Journeys said the partnership reflects shared values between the brand and the sport, including precision, innovation and teamwork.
“This is a very intentional partnership for us,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, in a media statement. “As a brand born and shaped in Switzerland, it holds particular meaning, reflecting our European roots and the values that underpin how we operate.
“SailGP is an exhilarating sport that embodies precision, innovation and technical excellence—attributes that sit naturally with Explora Journeys. It reflects the same mindset we see on board our own ships, where teamwork, discipline and a certain quiet confidence define the experience.”
Global Exposure Across Key Markets
As part of the agreement, Explora Journeys branding will feature prominently across the team’s visual identity. The partnership will officially launch on May 9, 2026, at the SailGP event in Bermuda, with additional high-profile races scheduled in New York, Portsmouth and Geneva. The season reaches a significant milestone on Sept. 19 and 20, 2026, as the championship returns to Geneva for the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix.
