All-Inclusive beach and mountain powerhouse Club Med has taken a turn for the even better, and its bringing the focus back to its original philosophy of “creating simple moments of happiness.” Clients who have been faithful to the brand since way back when will love the move towards elevating their experiences all the way around, creating a “more premium, family-friendly and eco-conscious” getaway than ever before. This goes hand-in-hand with stepping up their corporate social responsibility efforts (CSR), also a draw for clients both former and new.

Club Med’s New ID

Disconnect for joy has long been a mantra for Club Med ever since its foundation in 1950. Now the company is looking back to its beginnings for the inspiration to elevate its all-inclusive into one that blends luxury with the simple—and often—best moments in life, all presented in a new campaign called “That’s L’Esprit Libre.”

“When the complexities of everyday life are removed so one can focus on special moments, like having ice cream for breakfast and putting on ski boots, or if your family vacation actually feels like a vacation—That’s L’Esprit Libre,” said Kevin Armstrong, senior director of brand & communications for Club Med North America and the Caribbean, in a press statement. “Our new brand positioning takes inspiration from our long-standing 73-year history and iconic advertising campaigns, reinforcing our pioneering essence as well as our forthcoming journey with simplicity, modernized luxury, and playfulness.”

The company already has nearly 70 all-inclusive resorts in beach and mountain destinations and continues to open and/or renovate anywhere from three to five properties every year. By launching the Exclusive Collection, Club Med continues its incursion into the luxury arena with 5-star resorts, villas, chalets, exclusive areas within existing resorts and a yacht. Plans are to continue growth in this area.

The move also includes refreshed marketing and communication materials.

The company is also putting the pedal to the metal in its sustainability efforts by eliminating single-use plastics, energy management and the preservation of local culture, all under the umbrella of its Happy Care program. Among its commitments for 2023-2024 are prioritizing local sourcing, creating food waste programs, creating uniforms and boutique products from recycled plastic, Green Globe recertification and new certifications, a turtle monitoring and protection program in the Ixtapa property and more.
