Avianca has announced an investment of more than $800 million in 2025 to expand its fleet, enhance customer experience and consolidate growth across its business units. The investment strategy focuses on multiple areas that will directly impact service delivery and operational capabilities.

“This investment of more than $800 million demonstrates our unwavering commitment to our customers. Our model succeeds by offering travelers both competitive options and an expanding premium experience. That’s why we are actively investing in more aircraft, a broader route network, and most importantly the quality of the travel experience,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca, in a press statement.

Avianca’s Network Continues Growing

Avianca has revealed plans to launch 13 new routes during 2025, representing a 13 percent increase in network connectivity. To support this expansion and meet rising passenger demand, Avianca will add six new aircraft to its fleet by year-end. This fleet growth continues the airline’s modernization strategy, which includes the ongoing integration of Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Premium service enhancements form a significant portion of the investment plan. Avianca will continue to expand INSIGNIA by Avianca service in European markets, while also extending Business Class Americas to more than 80 routes across the Western Hemisphere. These premium offerings deliver elevated in-flight experiences with upgraded seating, dining and service protocols.

The investment extends to ground services with new VIP lounges and priority check-in facilities for LifeMiles members. The loyalty program, which counts over 14 million members, will receive additional investment to enhance benefits beyond the flight experience itself.

Avianca Cargo operations will also benefit from the capital injection. The airline plans to strengthen its dedicated freighter fleet, particularly focusing on A330F aircraft, while increasing flight frequencies to improve connectivity and cargo transport capacity throughout its network.
