Victory Cruise Lines is ready to sail to Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula with 100 percent vaccinated, small-ship cruising options.
For those passengers who may be wary to board a cruise ship with thousands of other people in the post-pandemic era, Victory Cruise Lines has launched new Mexico and Yucatán Peninsula itineraries in January 2022 aboard the Victory I.
The 202-passenger Victory I cruise ship provides an intimate cruise experience as it navigates canals and locks, tranquil bays and hidden ports where larger ships can’t go. Venturing from Cancun to explore Valladolid, Cozumel (Tulum), Costa Maya, Progresso and Campeche, passengers will be immersed in the history and culture of the regions and sites, plus they can take part in active shore excursions.
While in Tulum, cruisers will get to see the ruins that sit along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula overlooking the glittering Caribbean Sea. For the Mayans, who built this area, Tulum served as a fortress as it’s protected on one side by four-story cliffs and on the other side by a 12-foot wall. Now the destination has become known for its spiritual, New Age vibe.
Next, they’ll visit Campeche, a fortified city on the Yucatan’s western edge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, guests enjoy cultural explorations including Puerta de Tierra, El Palacio de Centro Cultural, and Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Cathedral.
In Valladolid, (Chichen Itza), guests will get to stay overnight at the Mayaland Hotel, which has been family-owned since 1923. They’ll be within walking distance of the ruins of Chichen Itza and El Castille, the Temple of Kukulkan.
Then they’ll explore the Mayan World of Edzna, a Mayan city that offers guests various religious and residential buildings to discover. This city is thought to be one of the technologically advanced cities because of the architectural influences by the Puuc, Peten, and Chenes styles.
In order to keep guests safe during their sailing, Victory Cruise Lines has implemented its SafeCruise program with enhanced health and safety standards that feature pre-boarding, boarding and onboard processes to protect guests, crew members and the communities the vessels visit. Victory Cruise Lines enacted a COVID-19 vaccination mandate for all guests that will go into effect for all sailings beginning July 1, 2021. Additionally, the vaccination requirement will apply to shipboard crew members and non-shipboard employees across all vessels.
