Vaccinated travelers can now visit Phuket quarantine-free; and Como Hotels and Resorts is ready to welcome your clients for villa-style experiences.

Arrival Requirements to Phuket
As of July 1, 2021, entry to Phuket will be open to fully vaccinated international travelers who test negative for COVID-19 72 hours before arrival, under the Phuket Sandbox program. For those travelers planning to explore Thailand beyond Phuket, they’ll be required to spend at least 14 nights in Phuket before being able to travel through Thailand. But, for those who wish to only visit Phuket, they can stay for less than 14 nights if they’re returning home directly from Phuket.

Every traveler must also obtain a Certificate of Entry (COE) before being able to fly into Phuket International Airport.  For more information on how to apply for the COE, visit https://coethailand.mfa.go.th. Keep in mind that the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate-General takes about three working days to process Step One and Step Three respectively. In addition, foreign travelers must also have insurance that covers the treatment and medical expenses for COVID-19, with a minimum amount of $100,000. A copy of insurance coverage and receipt will be required at Phuket International Airport upon arrival.

The Phuket Sandbox program, applies to fully vaccinated international travelers from countries with a low to medium risk of COVID-19, which the U.S. is currently listed at a medium risk. Travelers must have been vaccinated for more than 14 days, but within one year of entering Thailand. Proof of vaccination must also be submitted when applying for the Certificate of Entry.

The property features 79 guestrooms and suites, plus 27 private villas with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the sea.

Currently, the property is only accepting guests for villa experiences with wellness treatments and dining available from the villa. Hotel rooms and suites are not yet available for bookings.

Phuket is also known for its hillside terrain, jungle foliage, natural waterfalls and beaches, where guests can take up a hiking experience. A few of the hikes that can be coordinated through the property include: hiking from the village of Rawai towards Black Rock Viewpoint and Laen Krating, which offers panoramic views of the sea; from the slopes of Kata guests will hike through the jungle to where the Big Buddha statue sits (plus take a tour of the Big Buddha upon arrival, with the option to receive blessings from the monks at the White Big Buddha Temple); or opt for a more challenging 4-hour trek into the Khao Phra Teaw National Park.

For guests opting for any of the hiking options, COMO Point Yamu can provide transfers, bottled water, raincoats, and guides if applicable.
