The Setai Hotels has announced plans to expand into the Caribbean through a new partnership with Toronto-based Altree Developments, marking the luxury brand’s first property in the region. The collaboration will see the transformation of the Vie L’Ven development into The Setai St. Maarten, a 205-guestroom beachfront resort and private villa community located in Indigo Bay.

Scheduled for completion in 2028, the resort is being developed in collaboration with Studio Munge, HKS Architects and Leading Hotels of the World. Amenities are expected to include a full-service beach club with private cabanas and butler service, three swimming pools—including an adults-only pool—a 30,000-square-foot destination spa, tennis and pickleball courts, on-beach water sports and access to a protected nature reserve.
Additional offerings will include a children’s playroom, childcare programs and five restaurant concepts. These include Ocean Grill Beach Club and Jaya, both inspired by the culinary concepts found at The Setai, Miami Beach.
In addition to traditional hotel accommodations, The Setai St. Maarten will feature branded residences ranging from one- to four-bedroom layouts, with sizes starting at approximately 620 square feet and extending beyond 2,000 square feet. Select dual-key residence options will offer up to 6,000 square feet.
