Quasar Expeditions has announced the return of its annual Darwin Family Cruise, an 8-day journey through the Galapagos Islands that is designed to combine adventure travel with educational discovery.
Scheduled to depart July 18–25, the voyage will take place aboard the recently renovated Quasar Evolution, an expedition yacht accommodating just 32 guests.
Science, Discovery & Adventure
Travelers will have the opportunity to explore the remote ecosystems of the Galapagos Islands while retracing the path of Charles Darwin, whose observations in the archipelago nearly two centuries ago helped shape the theory of evolution.
Returning to lead the educational component of the voyage is Kenneth Noll, a microbiologist with more than four decades of experience. During the sailing, Noll portrays Darwin, blending historical storytelling with modern scientific insights to help travelers better understand the unique biodiversity of the islands.
The itinerary includes stops at several notable islands, including San Cristobal Island, Santa Cruz Island, South Plaza Island and Mosquera Islet, along with more remote destinations such as Genovesa Island and Santa Fe Island, which are often inaccessible to larger ships.
Guided excursions include snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking and panga rides, offering opportunities to encounter species such as sea lions, marine iguanas and blue-footed boobies in their natural habitat.
Quasar Expeditions is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has built its reputation around experiential travel throughout South America.
