Get outdoors to explore even more of the U.S.! That’s what Destin-Fort Walton Beach in Florida wants your clients to do with the launch of its latest program, Venture Out. It’s designed, they say, to offer families a way to “break free from the confines of home.” Outdoors. Adventure. Local experiences—it’s all included.
These family-friendly itineraries, available now on a limited-basis through Nov. 30, 2020 and created by moms and business owners who are lifelong residents of the destination, will have families exploring a remote island, reeling in a keeper, creating a sandcastle, and indulging in fresh, flavorful dishes. According to the destination’s tourism arm, the itineraries will get “kids outside in the open air and have an adventure complete with a local dining experience that’s delivered directly to families in their own space.”
“The heart of Venture Out is partnership, not only between our local businesses, but between our visitors and the destination,” said Jennifer Adams, director, Destin-Fort Walton Beach tourism, in a press release statement. “We know there are so many questions surrounding travel right now and Venture Out connects us directly with guests so we can not only provide answers to their questions, but also a great option to have an adventure here, whether they’re visiting for an afternoon or a week-long stay.”
Itineraries include:
- Catch & Cook– Clients can spend the afternoon aboard the Fifth Day charter boat then have Destin Harbor’s newest dining spot, East Pass Seafood & Oyster House cook their catch. A special to-go menu will be available (complete with sides) to enjoy back on their balcony upon their return or around the table should they chose to pick up dinner later in the evening.
- Float & Feast– Clients can rent a pontoon with Island Watersports Company and enjoy a to-go lunch of fresh local seafood prepared by Rick’s on the Island.
- Sand Pails & Picnic– The whole family can learn to build a sandcastle with expert guidance from a certified Sandcastle Coach from Beach Sand Sculptures. After a 2-hour sandcastle lesson with a coach, they’ll receive a sand sculpting kit to take home. Then they’ll enjoy a boxed lunch from Fudpucker’s for a beach picnic in the natural beauty of Henderson Beach State Park.
- Fish & Feast– Clients can set course for an adventurous afternoon of private charter fishing with Hey Baby, and then let Harbor Docks cook their catch to perfection and serve it in style with sides to be enjoyed dockside or poolside back at your hotel.
