The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is undergoing a major expansion.

Seeing Gold
The iconic Golden Gate Hotel & Casino—one of Las Vegas’ original hotels—is building upon its storied 111-year legacy with a sweeping expansion that will be unveiled later this month. The renovation, which marks Golden Gate’s second major expansion in more than 50 years, will nearly double the casino in size; add a dramatic entry way on Fremont Street Experience; and extend its high-energy outdoor bar, OneBar at One Fremont Street.

Highlights include the new casino space featuring almost 100 new slots to the casino floor. The centerpiece of the space will be an eye-catching 360-degree, 24-ft. tower of televisions designed to look as though the TVs are emerging from a fountain. In addition, the 24-hour beverage destination on Fremont Street Experience, One Bar at One Fremont Street, is expanding 20 ft. to become one of the longest bars in Downtown Las Vegas. It will offer external televisions, frozen libations and, of course, dancing bartenders. There will also be a new entryway to the Fremont Street Experience inspired by the Jazz Age with velvet drapes adorned with gold medallions serving as a grand arrival to the casino’s marble-floored rotunda.

Golden Gate will close Aug. 20-25 for a part of the construction phase. Rates start at $44 including a resort fee. For more information, visit goldengatecasino.com.
