Wurzak Hotel Group has unveiled Moxy St. Pete, a 163-room hotel situated along St. Petersburg, Florida’s bustling Central Avenue. The Moxy St. Pete is part of the new EDGE Collective, a 500,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use development that will include office and retail space and a residential tower.
“With this opening, we’re bringing something new and exciting to St. Pete: an experience-driven destination designed for locals and visitors that is woven into the fabric of the neighborhood,” said Jake Wurzak, president of Wurzak Hotel Group and co-developer behind Moxy St. Pete, in a press statement.
A Closer Look at Moxy St. Pete
The hotel lobby captures St. Pete’s classic charm with a vibrant mural by Tampa artist Ashley Cassens and a sculptural mirror by local artist Ted VanCleave. The space is designed for both work and leisure, featuring comfortable furniture and an indoor stage for live music and entertainment.
The lobby also includes Bar Moxy, the hotel’s indoor and outdoor bar, Rose’s Coffee Bar, a podcast studio, 1,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space and a 24-7 fitness center. The hotel’s meeting room also features shuffleboard floors as a tribute to the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, the oldest and largest in the world.
The Moxy St. Pete’s rooftop pool on the 7th floor also features the Sip ‘n Dip, an outdoor bar. Slated to open this fall is Sparrow, a 4,000-sq.-ft. dining area that transforms into a nightlife venue serving Asian-inspired cuisine and craft cocktails.
Phase I of the new EDGE Collective development will see the construction of Moxy St. Pete and the redeveloped and modernized 1246 Central Avenue building. The latter includes 16,000 sq. ft. of office space and the recently announced Bosphorous Turkish restaurant on the ground floor.
