The pandemic might have slowed down reservations, but it did not slow down innovation, renovations, and new hotels openings. Here we have a roundup on what’s new.

The Opus, Westchester, an Autograph Collection Hotel
This property, located in White Plains, New York, is set to open its doors this month. The Opus will feature 146 guestrooms including 38 luxury suites.

The property’s lobby bar will offer cocktails and small bites. For fine dining, guests can check out the rooftop restaurant Kanopi, located on the 42nd floor with floor-to-ceiling views of the New York skyline, Hudson Valley, and the Long Island Sound. Here, guests will experience tasting menus, wine parings, and a farm-to-table dining experience featuring influences from Portugal. In addition, the hotel’s rooftop pool area offers 360-degree views and will offer guided water fitness and poolside mediation. Guests can also enjoy various wellness options such as the Opus signature sound baths, plus the onsite gym will feature two Peloton bikes.

EDITION Hotels

The brand is expanding through the end of 2022 with eight new properties opening across three continents. The new properties include: The Reykjavik EDITION opening mid 2021; The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza, The Rome EDITION, and The Dubai EDITION all opening late 2021; The Madrid EDITION, The Tampa EDITION both opening early 2022; The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai opening mid 2022, and The Doha EDITION opening late 2022.

The Reykjavik EDITION will feature 253 guestrooms, plus a rooftop space, nightlife, spacious meeting and event spaces, and a spa. In addition, the hotel is expected to offer guests a diverse culinary offering with a signature restaurant, bar and a cafe.

The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza will be located just off Chuo Street, one of the largest upscale entertainment and shopping destinations in the city. The newly constructed property will include 86 guestrooms and suites, three food and beverage concepts including a rooftop bar, meeting spaces, and a fitness center.

The Rome EDITION will feature 95 guestrooms and suites, including a Penthouse suite with a private 1,399 sq. ft. terrace.The property will also offer food and beverage outlets, including a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space; a Punch Room Bar; and a Rooftop Terrace where guests. In addition to customizable indoor and outdoor event spaces, the hotel will also feature a rooftop pool, a hi-tech gym, and two treatment rooms including a couple-massage experience.

The Dubai EDITION  will feature 275 guestrooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, a pool, spa and fitness center, event spaces and a flexible ballroom.

Dorchester Collection

Throughout the pandemic, the Dorchester Collection has undergone a series of renovations, additions, and new guest experiences. In Paris, Le Meurice and Hotel Plaza Athenee debut completely redesigned guest suites; in Los Angeles The Beverly Hills Hotel recently unveiled a completely refreshed spa; in London, The Dorchester celebrates 90 years with a new rooftop restaurant and bar concept; and in Ascot, Coworth Park has debuted North Lodge a completely restored stand-alone guest cottage.

Rosewood Hotel Georgia

The 156-guestroom property, located in downtown Vancouver, is now accepting reservations for stays starting on May 1. In addition, the hotel’s Sense, A Rosewood Spa will also reopen for services, as will the onsite dining options—Reflection, A Garden Terrace and 1927 Lobby Lounge.

Hilton Santa Monica Hotel & Suites

The property features 286 guestrooms, which of 211 are suites; and in the lobby, guests will find a tech lounge co-working space. Other amenities include a pool and cabanas, a 24-hour fitness center, and event spaces. Monica’s, the onsite restaurant, serves up dishes using ingredients from local farmers markets with a menu that changes seasonally. Those looking for a grab-and-go option, can head to The Marketplace, where they can find drinks, gourmet sandwiches, and salads.

The Goodtime Hotel

This 266-guestroom property recently opened in Miami Beach along Washington Avenue, offering guestrooms with views of Biscayne Bay or the Atlantic Ocean. The onsite eatery, Strawberry Moon, will serve casual Mediterranean fare and cocktails for lunch and dinner inside or poolside.

Guests can also take in retail shopping on the ground floor, or head to the gym featuring MyBeast and Peloton equipment, or the Library— a room used for anything from enjoying a cup of coffee to cocktails to casual meet-and-greets.
