Bookings are now open for Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya, the first adults-only all-inclusive property for the brand, which will open in Bahia Petempich in early 2023. Bookings made by July 30, 2022, for travel between Jan. 3, 2023 and Dec. 23, 2023, will receive a 47 percent discount, with room rates starting at $220 per person per night.
A collaboration between Karisma Hotels & Resorts and Margaritaville, the resort will feature 355 suites, five restaurants, four bars, a St. Somewhere Spa, three swimming pools, event and conference spaces, two pickleball courts and the very first LandShark Brewery in Mexico.
“As our third property to open under the Island Reserve brand, we wanted to create a new experience for our guests that is different from the others, which is why Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya is our first adults-only destination,” said Mario Mathieu, s.v.p. of business development, design and construction at Karisma Hotels & Resorts, in a press statement. “Here, guests will be transported to an upscale coastal retreat where every room offers a view due to its crescent moon shape.”
Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya boasts 13 room types consisting of king and double queen rooms. Choices of accommodation include: King Paradise Rooms with a king bed, seating area and a terrace and its double queen-bed equivalent Queen Paradise Rooms; Oceanfront Honeymoon Suites, corner suites complete with a living area, wrap-around terrace and, as its name suggests, an ocean view; and Oceanfront Paradise Swim-Up Studio which offers a king-sized bedroom and living area that opens onto a terrace and private infinity pool.
Those looking to splurge might want to try the 3,200 square foot Coral Reefer Signature Suite with an outdoor living space that can accommodate eight people, an oversized private infinity pool, a gaucho-style grill and an outdoor pool table. The suite also has private butler service.
Among the dining and beverage options—all inspired by Jimmy Buffet lyrics—are a steakhouse with a resident “meat sommelier”, an Italian trattoria, a LandShark Brewery & Grill serving up grilled staples and beers brewed on-site, an agave-inspired mixology bar and two swim-up bars.
The 10,000-square-foot St. Somewhere Spa will have nine treatment rooms, including suites for couples and brides, and a 2,000-square-foot fitness center, where guests can partake in yoga and aqua fit classes among other activities. Guests also have complimentary use of the resort’s kayaks, snorkeling gear and paddleboards. Pool parties with live music, beach bonfires and cornhole tournaments are among the social events to be offered on a weekly basis.
As well as ballrooms for cocktail parties, formal dinners and weddings, Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya will also have 5,000 square feet of dedicated conference space that can accommodate up to 400 people.
