Hotel Matilda’s spa has designed the new Walking Matilda Leg Therapy to help guests stay comfortably on their feet while navigating the cobblestone streets of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

The 80-minute treatment begins with a bamboo exfoliation and clay leg mask, which is made in the spa’s apothecary using natural ingredients. As the clay mask settles, an organic facial is applied with a hand-carved marble massage tool made for lifting, firming, and softening the skin. A special massage then removes the leg mask while relaxing muscles and restoring energy.

Fortunately, the pampering does not have to stop there. Spa Matilda’s 4,700-sq.-ft. facility features four treatment rooms, a hamam (Turkish-style bath) and a wellness studio, plus a private spa suite with mediation garden, lounge, steam shower, soaking tub, and grooming area. Before and after treatments, guests can enjoy quiet time next to the fireplace in the indoor/outdoor Relaxation Lounge or on one of two patios. The Walking Matilda Leg Therapy costs $200.

Guests can dine on traditional Mexican dishes with a twist, at the hotel’s restaurant, Moxi, and then call it a day at one of the hotel’s 32, artfully inspired guestrooms and suites. As a matter of fact, the entire Hotel Matilda is brimming with contemporary art pieces by such noteworthy artists as Angelo Musco, Spencer Tunick, and Diego Rivera. Room rates start at $409 per night. For more information, call (800) 628-4532 or visit hotelmatilda.com.
