In honor of the soon-to-debut live action version of “The Lion King” movie, andBeyond has launched a new Kings of the Jungle itinerary that brings guests to explore the East African landscapes and wildlife that inspired the filmmakers.
This 10-day journey takes safari-goers through the Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater to learn how the ‘Circle of Life’ plays out in the bush and meet some of the movie’s starring cast on daily game drives. Guests are likely to encounter Mufasa’s lion pride, Zazu and his fellow hornbills, Shenzi and his giggling hyena clan, along with the fan-favorite warthog, Pumba.
Highlights of the itinerary include watching the sunrise over the Masai Mara plains from the guest suites at andBeyond Bateleur Camp; visiting the remote Western Corridor of the Serengeti, also known as Mufasa country for its dense lion population; relaxing in a pool overlooking the Serengeti’s hippo pods; spending a day on Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater floor, the world’s largest caldera, in search of big tusker elephants and the rhinos; and meeting the team from the KopeLion project who are working with communities to protect lion populations in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Guests on this itinerary will also stay with andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas, a full service mobile tented camp that anticipates the movements of the migration and follows closely along. Pricing for this 10-day adventure starts at $17,750 pp dbl. Special rates apply for children.
