In January 2016, Ecoventura is debuting the new MV Origin set to sail the Galapagos Islands. The 20-passenger, premium class, mega-yacht features 10 deluxe staterooms, gourmet meals, a fitness center and a jacuzzi, plus indoor and outdoor observation areas for viewing the islands’ unique landscapes. MV Origin also practices environmental responsibility by alternating between two options of A and B itineraries to reduce the amount of traffic at the islands’ most popular destinations. The ship’s maiden voyage departs Jan. 17, 2016 from San Cristobal Island on the B itinerary going northwest towards the Genovesa Island. On Jan. 24, 2016, MV Origin departs from San Cristobal for Española on the A itinerary. Both itineraries include daily, personalized excursions with options for snorkeling and kayaking tours led by certified naturalists.

Highlights of Itinerary A include:

  • A trip to Pinnacle Rock on Bartolome Island
  • Nazca, blue and red-footed booby birdviewing
  • A snorkeling tour with Galapagos penguins
  • A visit with giant tortoises in the highlands
  • A kayak tour and a swim with sea lions at Cerro Brujo Beach and Gardner Bay

Highlights of Itinerary B include:

  • A visit with giant tortoises in the highlands
  • Nazca and red-footed booby birdviewing on the Genovesa Island
  • A snorkeling tour with penguins on Isabela Island
  • A tour of the volcanic formations on Fernandina Island
  • A kayak tour at Darwin Bay and Tagus Cove
  • Whale and dolphin spotting
