Winter is quickly approaching in North America; however, in Central and South America, resorts are preparing for high season with warm weather that will beckon travelers from around the country. Take the new Naia Resort and Spa in Belize for instance, where guests can receive 40 to 50 percent off accommodations with the Early Explorer promotion for stays now through Dec. 18. Stays between Dec. 19 and May 31 will receive 10 percent off accommodations in addition to a special welcome amenity upon arrival.

Situated along a mile of beach on a private 200-acre reserve in southern Belize, Naia Resort and Spa made its soft opening debut on the Placencia Peninsula, long treasured, in part, for its endless activities abound, including snorkeling on the hemisphere’s longest barrier reef, hiking, river tubing and ziplining. The resort features 35 individual Beach Houses; each designed as a private sanctuary overlooking the Caribbean Sea with an oceanview veranda, deep soaking tubs, private outdoor showers, a wet bar with a refridgerator and coffee maker, flatscreen TVs and complimentary WiFi. Two- and 3-bedroom options also offer full kitchens and expansive, seafront pool decks. In addition, the resort is home to three restaurants, all designed to celebrate Placencia’s regional fare, and a 10,000-sq.-ft. spa and wellness complex set amidst a series of lagoons with five individual treatment rooms, a private island couple’s suite, plus a fitness center and a yoga and movement studio.

Naia Resort and Spa’s official grand opening will be in January 2017. Early Explorer rates start at $163 for a Studio Beach House and include 25 percent off all food and spa treatments. For more information, visit naiaresortandspa.com.
